I'm Stephanie Sarro, founder and principal designer at Sarro Design. With a background in architecture and a passion for the arts, I blend technical expertise with creative intuition to design homes that are as functional as they are beautiful. My eye for detail, love of color, and deep understanding of spatial design help create timeless, personalized interiors that reflect each client’s unique story. I absolutely love what I do, and I can't wait to connect with you!
When you walk into a house that truly feels like home, you know it. There’s a warmth. A sense of comfort. A feeling that the space isn’t just pretty—it means something. At Sarro Design, that’s our mission: to design homes that reflect the heart of the people who live there, not just their style.
But what does it really mean to design from the heart?
When we ask clients what they want their home to feel like, the words aren’t about trends or aesthetics. They say things like: loving, warm, cozy, inviting, clever, comfortable, classic, balanced.
Yes, of course, style matters—but it’s not the only thing that matters. At Sarro Design, we believe your home should reflect your story, your values, and the tone you want to set for your life.
One of the tools we use in our design process is something a little unexpected: we look at the seasons, not just the literal ones, but the symbolic ones. Each season has its own personality, and many people are drawn to one more than the others.
Sometimes, couples fall into different seasons. That’s where the magic (and challenge!) of blending begins. We listen carefully and notice who feels more passionately (it’s often the husband, though not always!), and craft a design that honors both personalities in one harmonious space.
Building or remodeling a dream home can sometimes feel like a never-ending series of decisions. Most couples aren’t sure what they want their home to feel like. They’re hesitant to make expensive mistakes. And too often, the responsibility for keeping everything on track falls on the wife—or worse, the builder—creating stress and miscommunication.
That’s where we come in!
We don’t just help make decisions. With a confident eye for design, we help you figure out what you can’t quite put into words- the feel of the home you’re hoping to create. Then we bring that vision to life!
We bring a warm, artistic, and compassionate energy to the process, but the goal isn’t to impose our style. It’s to help you discover yours. The final result is a custom design that should feel like it belongs to you, not just in a “this is nice” way, but in a “this is us” way.
One of our favorite examples of a heart-centered design project is the Manito Cottage—a full home remodel for a couple with a beautiful story.
This couple wasn’t able to have children of their own, so early in their marriage, they traveled to India and adopted three orphans. Their journey was filled with both joy and challenge, and as we remodeled their home, reworking everything from the kitchen to the floors to a custom wine room, we had the privilege of getting to know not just the couple but their now-grown children as well.
When we reached the final stage of decorating, the wife asked if we could incorporate family photos into the design. She handed us boxes of old albums and said, “Choose what you think is best.”
What an honor.
As we sifted through decades of memories, one set of photos stopped us in our tracks: the couple, beaming, sitting in front of the Taj Mahal holding their three new children. We knew instantly these images had to be displayed.
We created a custom photo wall in the living room using a wall-hanging chain system from Pottery Barn, pairing sleek black frames with white mats and black-and-white prints in various sizes. It became a timeless, artful celebration of a deeply personal journey—a story told in images that now lives at the heart of their home.
When they walked into the final result, there were tears. That’s the power of a meaningful design philosophy!
Designing a house that reflects your heart isn’t about following trends or copying Pinterest boards. It’s about discovering what matters to you!
That’s what we do at Sarro Design. We’re not just here to decorate. We’re here to listen, interpret, and translate your story into a space that feels right. Not perfect. Not showroom-ready. Just… right.
